Since I have a brother who is a bounty hunter, Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series was a hit with me.  If you ever thought a book was either mystery, funny, serious or a love story, you can get all of these and more from a Stephanie Plum novel, from the first, One for the Money to the most recent, Twelve Sharp.

Stephanie is a bounty hunter who gets shot at, gets her car blown up (several times), but also has dinner with her parents and does other things that could happen to any of us at any time.  She has a “partner” named Lula, who is a laugh a minute.  Also, Stephanie’s grandma Mazur can get in trouble just by standing there waiting for things to happen.

Stephanie also has a very active love life.  If she’s not with her vice cop, Joe Morelli, you can expect her to get a visit from mysterious bounty hunter Ranger.  They are both on Stephanie’s side, but she can’t decide which one she likes best!
