Mason City Public Library Wish List

Mason City Public Library would really love to have or produce the items on our Wish List contained in this message.  Your contribution is tax deductible if you give the funds to the Mason City Public Library and then we purchase the items that you designate from the list below.  This list will be updated as we wish for additional items AND when we purchase items from the list we will delete them.  We will accept any amount of funds and we thank you in advance for your consideration of our wishes. 

History and Archives Department

We wish to produce a documentary on the history of businesses that were located on the Winnebago River.  The costs included in this project are: film, outside editing and production costs, gas for the airplane, etc.  None of the costs related to production of this documentary film are for wages of regular Library Staff members.   $1,500.00 

Children’s Department

We wish for an Ipod touch and portable speaker dock for use in Story Times and during Teen programming.   $400.00

Mason City Public Library-Programming

We wish to continue offering live music in the Commons Area from Memorial Day to Labor Day on Fridays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and in November and December on Saturdays, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  The live music this past year has been very popular and it is a great venue for performances by local musicians.  $5500.00 annually.

We wish to offer live performances by professional actors, singers, etc. in the Youth and Adult Services Departments.  The performers charge an average cost of $500.00.  These events are much appreciated and open to the public at no charge. $6000.00 annually.
