Summer Library Challenge May 31 - July 23
Children's Challenge
Kids aged birth to 11 will track their reading and activity progress using a paper log or online via Beanstack. Participants will earn tickets to enter into prize drawings as they progress and will recieve a free book of their choice when they complete their challenge log. Starting May 31, stop by the MCPL or return to this page to get started! Check out our Facebook page or our events calendar for more info on events!

Drop-In Camps:
Themed station events with a variety of fun activities! Crafts, STEM activities, take & makes, & more! All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
- Friendship Camp: June 6, 2-6pm
- Nature Camp: June 13, 2-6pm
- Sports Camp: June 20, 2-6pm
- Space Camp: June 27, 2-6pm
Baby & Toddler Outdoor Storytimes
Join us outside on the MCPL lawn for a fun storytime perfect for babies & toddlers. We will share stories, songs, movement, & early literacy tips. Storytimes will be held every Wednesday morning from June 8 through June 29 at 10 am. In cases of rain or extreme heat, storytime will be canceled, cancellations with be announced on our Facebook page.
Scavenger Hunt
Drop by the Children's Room any time during the week of July 5-9 to participate in a self-directed scavenger hunt! Pick up the checklist at the Youth Services desk, find the items around the library, and check them off the list. Bring the completed checklist back to the desk for a prize!
MCPL Downtown Mason City Storywalk
Enjoy a walk though downtown Mason City while you read the book Mr. Tiger Goes Wild by Peter Brown. The story will be up from May 27 through July 31. Find the first pages at CENT Credit Union, then follow the signs!
Teen Challenge 
Starting May 31, teens aged 12 to 18 can stop by the MCPL Youth Services desk to pick up a challenge log or the log can be completed online via Beanstack. The more challenges completed, the more grand prize entries and other cool things you can get! We will also have fun events and drop in crafts!

Adult Challenge 
Adults can complete a challenge log to be entered to win prizes and into a grand prize drawing. We'll also be offering several fun events. All events must be registered for in advance - please call 641-421-3668 for more information

Author Talk
We will be hosting an author talk with Sara Broers to discuss her book 100 Things to Do in Iowa Before You Die on June 7th at 4:30pm.
