Michelle Sprout Murray will be at the Mason City Public Library to discuss her book Amazing Iowa. Amazing Iowa contains 80 stories about Iowa firsts, famous Iowa people, and dark tales. This “amazing” book also includes a plethora of pictures. Whether you’re a native, a recent resident, or just passing through you’ll want to hear Michelle talk about her book. You’ll learn about mobsters and artists, musicians and authors, astronauts and inventors, and athletes and coaches as well as how the put Iowa in the spotlight.

Michelle Sprout Murray is a Mason City resident. Michelle and her husband Marc along with
Gary and Anne Schmit are Owner/Operators of Birdsall’s Ice Cream Co. which is in its 90 th year
of operation her in Mason City. She loves to tell stories, travel, and take way too many pictures.
Her favorite place to be is onstage, and that’s where she met her husband. Adventurers at heart,
they enjoy gallivanting around the country and running the ice cream store. They’re huge fans of
being with their two grown sons and daughter-in-law, who also are avid travelers and foodies.
