1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

A free and easy way for families and children to build a love of reading together.

Track each book you read with your child, from birth until they start kindergarten
Repeating books is OK and encouraged! Reading with your child promotes bonding, boosts vocabulary, and ensures children enter school prepared for reading
Pick up a small prize at the MCPL Youth Services desk after each 100 books read
After 500 books, receive a free book
After reading 1,000 books, you'll earn another book and a certificate.
